Dr. Shirin Farhadian

Dr. Shirin FarhadianDr. Shirin Farhadian graduated from dental school from Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. After practicing for a few years, she started Periodontics and implant surgery residency at Saint Louis University in 2016. She was the Chief resident of her program. She joined Sigma dental specialist after graduating from Periodontics and implant surgery residency. Dr. Shirin is Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. 

Dr. Farhadian has been involved in basic and clinical research in Periodontics and has published several articles in the field of Periodontics and bone tissue engineering. She has presented her clinical work and research nationally and internationally. In one of her advanced research projects, she studied over 2500 patients with Chronic Periodontitis to evaluate the synergistic effect of smoking and diabetes mellitus on treatment of these patients. Dr. Farhadian was one of the four finalists in the Balint Orban Memorial Competition clinical science at the American Academy of Periodontology 2019 Annual Meeting.

She is an active member of many professional associations including American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, and Dental honor society.

Dr. Farhadian speaks Farsi, English and Hungarian. In her leisure time, she enjoys exercising, cycling, cooking, wood working (moaragh) and traveling.
